Hi Don In my Capri 2.8L, I installed an alternator from a Chev Sprint. Its very small and includes an integral regulator. Depending on your wires, I connected one wire between my idiot light and reg. Then One large wire directly to the common terminal on the old regulator and another wire from the ignition field switch at the old regulator again. Some one gave me a bracket they had used on another V6 conversion so it mounted easily on my motor. All said and done, It produces about the same amps as the old gen. with the added benefit of charging at idle speed.
