Re: Alternator/Generator

2001-08-23 by gtcoastie@msn.com

Don,

Similar to what Dave said, when I had my MARCOS 3.0 Essex, I
converted to an alternator. The main problem, of course, was finding
an application that would allow for bonnet clearance. I took mine to
an auto electric specialist and he installed a small Toyota
alternator. He used a universal bracket that allowed for
adjustments. In hindsight, the wiring didn't look that difficult,
although I am not a great electrician and am glad I contracted out on
that one. The conversion was well worth the effort though as it
cured many electrical gremlins that I had w/ the generator.

Good luck,
Regards,
Tad---
