[LUG] [OT] Recommendation for best Loop Program

[LUG] [OT] Recommendation for best Loop Program

2005-03-02 by Chaz

The idea of using one of these programs disturbs me,
but I've waited long enough. I need to use one of
these, and don't know about any names other than Acid
and Fruity Loops. Any other suggestions? I am a
Windows User.

Thanks in advance

Are you wanting to make loops or use loops?

If you're cutting loops from sampled audio, I'm a big fan of Sound
Forge, though any sound editor and some patience will do.

If you're wanting to use loops in a creative way, Ableton Live is
phenomenal (version 4 is the newest and has introduced midi - Version
3 I believe uses the same looping engine as 4). NI Reaktor can also
use loops in interesting ways, but you're also paying for a modular
synth environment...not one solely devoted to loops.

Good luck.

Also, it seems like Logic itself could be a pretty beefy looping
application if you put some time into that included Apple Loops
utility. You might give that a whirl before shelling out $400 for
the newest version of Live.

That's ok, I don't hold it against you. :-)
