Hi there,
Thanks for the interest.
I currently work in the field of electronics test
and repair so it should be relatively straightforward for me to fix but
unfortunately these days I don't get enough time to even play the keyboards that
DO work let alone fix one!!
If you want I can email you some pictures of it and
the PCB's inside. As I have said, it's irregular in it's function and highly
random. The LED's on the front mostly work and after what appears to be a
warming-up period, almost begins to work logically.
The Service Manual originally cost me £20 as a
download and so is a print-out of it. During my attempts at repairing it at work
with my test engineer friend, traced several faults and replaced certain
components. I will mark up on the schematics what work has been done so far and
where we where headed next!
Funnily enough, you mentioned living in
Bournemouth. If you really are interested in it, you could always come and see
it as I live in Poole.
Thanks again for your interest,
Mark Daborn

Hi,
I joined this group in the vain hope I'd
one day be able to get my SX-210 working and sounding as lovely as I
think it could be. Unfortunately I'm now unable to spend any more time
on it and will be looking to find a new home for it.
As it stands at the moment, I believe
there are a few things wrong with it. The damage was caused by the
leaking battery and a few components have been replaced. I think the
problem now lies in the envelope area as each voice seems to have a
different timbre and envelope timing. A couple of voices don't even
sound at all or are very qiuet.
I'm sure the more experienced SX-210
owners and repairers may be able to help but I just don't have the
time!!
To assist in the repair, I will be
throwing in my difficult to find SX-210 Service Manual which has full
schematics of all boards, calibration procedures, a parts list and
specs of some components used.
Not sure of a price yet but I do want to
just get rid of it!!
Will have a look at postage costs but my
initial thoughts at an asking price would be around £75.
Thanks for your help!
