Hi and newbie questions

Hi and newbie questions

2006-07-28 by ickystay66

Hi everyone!

I just came home from the Goodwill with a SX-240. I plugged it in
and it does make sound. A kind of boring patch, but it seems to
work!

I downloaded the user manual from Kawai so I have lots of
reading and tinkering to do.

Questions-

How do I get inside this thing? I'd really like to check that the
battery is O.K. and (I guess) get a replacement. Plus, I love
seeing the guts of my electronic junk.

One of the switch covers is missing. Are these (even if the wrong
color) available anywhere?

I was going to ask about the little reset hole in back. I'll just try it
sans handholding..

Well, off to spend quality time with the manual. God, I hope it's
easier to program than my CZ-101...

Nice find. the reset hole turns all patches to the basic tone. From
there you have to create your own work for new patches to save. Side
pannels and back screws have to be removed to get inside. Not that
much fun on this synth. The top has to be gentally propped, because it
is still connected via cables.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
