Stupid 240 tricks

I've had this idea floating around in my head for some time now and finally got around to trying it. I was thinking that using the "harmonizer" in my old Roland GP16 processor I could add a subtle detune....sort of a virtual 3rd oscillator. I'm glad I tried it. Whatta huge difference. Really thickens up certain types of patches. I set the detune up for +25 cents and the mix 50/50 so the detune was equal to the original signal. Absolutely huge...try it. Maybe it's the older type harmonizer (doesn't track so well) that makes it sound so authentic, I dunno. Maybe I'll try it with a better harmoniser and see if its better/worse. Better yet, use both with opposite detunes for some real meat.
