Battery job sx 240

Changed battery at home. Used Radio shack 3.6v 170 mah nickel-cadmium to replace: GS Japan storage battery co. 3.6v 150mah lot # 084f3 I guess I have an 1984 model 240? Reluctantly, I cut the old battery out using a dramel and nippers, leaving as much of the old joint as possible. I soldered 2 lead wires, ran to side and out back through previously drilled hole ( someone elses work). Soldered wires to leads of new battery and hung off the back for easy replacement. A little immagination and the battery hanger will look ok. Works fine! Once I get my sx 210 to save patches, I plan to do the same Job. I am missing the sequencer button cover, other than that my sx 240 is up to great condition.
