The good: I has two oscillators, velocity, better midi, many different waveform osc (and additive synthese). The bad: Only 6 voices, no layer or split, no sequencer, no PWM (only static waveform osc), and no lfo button. What the K3 has in common with the sx series is the filter and the chorus and all Kawai synths are on the save side (as is the JP8) with taking the modulation depth not too far. If you like nice pads or PPGish sounds, the K3 is a cheap alternative. Although, the ppg factor is going only so far without wavetable scanning. The chorus is noisy on both but sounds just great. I like the SX240 the most because it is an updated 210 with lots of professional features (e.g. layer/split, 8 voices). I also like the interface. The sound is similar but different since the K3 has digital based oscilator.
