In defence of the notorious Ni-Cd 3.6v 50mah (see Photos) I would like to say that i perchased my SX-210 back in 1982 and i have only recently replaced the Memory Battery due to leakage; that's 23 years not bad going in my estimation. But it has to be acknowleged it can cause damage to the circuit boad if left unchecked; i was fortunate i only had superficial damage easily put right with a little help from group members addvice. Unfortunately i too was unsuccesfull in finding the details in the old group records on how to convert to Lithium with a blocking Diode (to prevent charging?)(Why prevent charging?) or did i miss read it!, in the end i settled (with great success)on a replacement Nick Metal Hydride Memory Backup Battery 3.6v 80mah available from http://www.rapidelectronics.co.uk/ Order Code: - 18-1625 .£2.05p plus P&P & VAT. this site allso has a range of jack plugs and sokets etc including right angled plugs which i found perticularly usefull; they have no minimum charge only postage. Another site in Ammerica has the Ni-Cd 3.6v 60mah @ $5.95 but opperates a minimum order charge of $50, Plus Carriage. http://partsexpress.com/ Part No: -141-102 . Hope you find this infofmation usefull; Regards, Clive. 08.02.06.
