Did I get this Board house from here? If not then I hope everyone that
can use these guys give them a try. Also, I'd like any testimonials.

$2.50 a sq. inch is high IMO. You can get $.55 per sq. inch at the
link below for better standards on paper, but the catch is you have to
spend at least $33.00 if you're a student and $99.00 otherwise.
Clearly not suitable depending on how much you have to spend.

If I am right, that price is with silk screen mask And they do allow
you odd shape boards. If the other guys are $0.33 with those options
then they are a better deal. The main reason for this thread is to get
board houses that others have used known to the world. I can make my
own board but if it is a project I plan to make money with then I want
the prototype done professionaly so I can determine any manufacturing
issues.

I have ordered several of the $33 specials from Advanced circuits.
They have solder mask and silk screen on BOTH sides. They also have a
site, www.freedfm.com ,that you upload your files to for a FREE check
to catch errors before manufacturing. This will catch a lot of dumb
errors. The board size is anything up to 60 sq inches. I put several
smaller boards on a panel. The last 2 were 58 sq-in. Advanced
circuits will not cut the individual boards out without additional
cost($50 I think). I use an 18" paper cutter to cut them out.
The boards are produced in 5 days or less and are MADE IN U.S.A.!!
My only complaint is you must buy 3 or more, so(unless you are a
student) the total is $116 with shipping(to Idaho).

Does KwickFit ring a bell? I was able to panelize 16 @ 2" X 1.6" on a
8.5" X 7" board (59.5 sq-in). Got 48 boards for $99.00, that's just
over $2.00 per board. No complaints and my good friend Lucy Lu from
China does the cutting;

It looks like KwickFit is a program to optimise yield. Who did your
boards?

Advanced Circuits, same place as the other fellow.

I will have a file done in Eagle for a board that I need for a
prototype. I only need about two of them right now. I want it done by
a pro so I can get a feel for the whole design, order, production
process and get a board that will look like it was done by a
professional, something I am not. Are their any recommendations of
someone cheap but decent that will not mind a 2 of a kind order? If I
am successful, I will need to order many more boards.

My last board (one panel, 100 circuits[*]) was from pcb-pool.com. 6
mil rules, no minimum qty (16 sq in minimum), 1-6 layers, and
panelization is allowed. Otherwise, it depends on your design needs -
board size, smallest hole, line/space rules, layers, etc. 4pcb has a
"bare bones" special if you don't need solder mask, batchpcb has a
TINY minimum order (er, 1 sq in) if you don't mind waiting, and olimex
has some sweet deals on standard size boards.

pcb-pool has a volume option as well, and 4pcb lets you go from a
3/$33 prototype to full volume production.

I use PCB-Pool for prototypes. They can also supply production quantities.

Don't forget to check the Links page:

If that link doesn't work, go to Links and look under Commercial PCB

I use www.4pcb.com <http://www.4pcb.com/> for all my boards. They have a
$500 new customer special, so you won't pay ANYTHING for your first two
orders (unless you order more than $250 per order) ->
http://www.4pcb.com/500free.htm . They have some great deals on quick turn
bare bones, student discounts, and $33 each specials. Right now they also
have free tooling on new production runs.

Make sure you mention len@..., too, because they reward referrals
