I keep a set of iron jewellry files on hand for trimming traces and RF stub tuning. Slicing bridged copper is simple given the different file shapes.

I d go with the knife too. You d probably have more control that way and be less likely to mess something up. On a side note, I d love to see your TVT

I have used a sharp X-acto knife and scraped the copper off.if it is a small area. For a larger area cover the traces with a marker pen such as Sharpie.
