MFX3 as CMI?

MFX3 as CMI?

2010-03-13 by Malte Rogacki

Hello,

I've read that the MFX3 series still contained the CMI functionality, at
least up to a certain point.

Given that MFX3 machines are comparatively cheap nowadays (significantly
cheaper than a Series III): Wouldn't that be an interesting project?

No, I really mean the MFX3.

According to the history section on fairlightus.com and the KMI site the
MFX3 had CMI functionality up to software revision 12.

I quote:

"MFX3 (1994, digital audio workstation/hard disk recording system, not to
be confused with "MFX III" console) (24 channels analog+digital 16-Bit
in/out, software Rev12 and Rev13, CMI functionality still supported in
Rev12)"
