Re: [Fairlight-CMI] Re: Q133 card and lithium battery

Hi Billy, Sounds good, so your next bet would be the cables. I do not know why there is one fuse missing, but is seemingly is standard, it is also missing in my unit. If I recal correctly it is for the monitor. I do not know the meaning of the verb 'obviate', I presume you are asking whether the CMI needs a functioning Q133 card ? yes, but the card does not necessarily need the battery. I ran the CMI software fine the other day without the battery. My card issue seems solved, I have at least one flaky soundboard. I removed it and the unit works again. The issue of fan noise was discussed a long time ago and do find the fans very noisy. While cleaning the unit I found even more fans than the ones for the cardcage. I saw 9 so far. I may attempt to reduce that noise and report here the level of success. Currently, it is less desireable to use the unit in my mixroom. Did a similar thing with the Rorke Scsi enclosure I have, that worked very well. Regards, Harald
