How about building a prototype?

I think that the "black box" idea would work for hard drive emulation as
well. So every CMI from Series I on up could have unlimited storage. No
one is left behind.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
