They're ancient though.  In the US, mobile phones haven't really taken
off in a significant way, and phone companies are selling very poor
service at vastly inflated prices - $9.99 per day for unlimited 3G isn't
a good deal when in the UK we consider 50p per day to be just about
reasonable ;-)

If you stick with 2.1 or newer, everything should be fine.
