Hi guys - my update. I was able to borrow a QWERTY keyboard from NYU (no telling what injuries this particular kybrd has suffered while institutionalized) - where Suzanne Vega's old series III resides but when I got back to my studio and plugged it into my machine, trying both ports on the music kybrd and on back of the cpu I got the same result (no response). There is a wild card I haven't mentioned but will now. When I opened up the front of the machine to re-seat the q133 card there were little bits of the air filter all over the inside of the machine (the filter having apparently disintegrated and been flown all over the insides by the fans). I don't know what result this might cause but I cleaned up the insides, re-seated all the cards and am still a Fairlight junkie without a fix. I am going to replace the battery - previous battery installed Dec 2003 - in hopes that this will clear things up. Oh - and yes Laurent I did check the back of the CPU and all voltages appear to be ok. Thanks for all your responses and suggestions my Fairlight brothers. I'll keep you posted.
