Does my case have 5v?

Does my case have 5v?

2014-09-25 by David Kellett

Hi,

I have a Basic System 2 in a silver 19" Doepfer rack. On the power rail I can see that one pin is labeled 5v. Does this mean I DON'T need a separate 5v supply for a module that needs 5v? I have a Delptronics LDB 1e arriving later today that needs 5v

Thanks for help,

David

If the +5V control LED on the right end if the bus boards is "on" this bus
board has +5V available. Otherwise you have to install the A-100AD5.
Older versions of the A-100BS2 (with interface A-190-1) were equipped with
an A-100AD5 in the lower row. The new versions (with A-190-4 interface
instead of the A-190-1) are no longer equipped with the A-100AD5 as the
A-190-4 does no longer require +5V.
If you need +5V in the upper row an A-100AD5 has to be installed in any
case.

Hope this helps

Thank you Dieter,

My system has an A190-1 so there must be 5v power in the lower row. Now I have to scratch my head to work out which modules I can take out for the moment to play with the LDB!! I'm saving for a Monster Base but my plan to buy it next week has had to change due to people not paying their bills!!!

Thanks again,

David
