I just received an A-189-1 Bit Modifier module and the ribbon cable connecting JP2 to the mode dial has become disconnected in transit. Please can you confirm that...
a) At the JP2 (PCB) end the red connector is towards the bottom of the module and...
b) At the Mode dial end the red connector is towards the module's front panel.
Also I see there is an expansion port (JP4) on the PCB. What is this used for?

yes (both). You see the polarity also in the picture of the module on our
website:

This port is not used so far. We simply connected unused port pins of the
microcontroller to this pin header.
