Dark Time

Hi there

Anybody have any idea if there is still a planned update for DT to run two in sequence or parralel.
Also it would be great to be able to have different clock divisions or speeds on different rows. Although this might not be possible with the hardware. I'm sure this is possible on the MAQ 16/3.

I asked Doepfer this question a few weeks back and was told that there is no plan yet to run 2 DT chained, but it is something they say they may consider in future updates.

The MAQ 16/3 can do all that you want and more, download the manual, it should answer all of your questions. I use one and am more than happy with the results I get.

Tim.

Cheers for that.

Yeah I've had a look at the manual, found the explanation of note length quite confusing to be honest. haha.

I was wondering then. What features would you say are available on DT but not 16/3?
As far as I'm aware 16/3 doesn't have a 'to scale' option, but I'm guessing it probably has a note display on the LCD? so maybe not necessary.

I've also heard as there is some menu diving it's perhaps not as 'on the fly' in terms of using skips etc. I've heard if you have a few skips it might be hard to quickly get it back. However I see their is a controller app for ipad, which may do this although there doesn't seem to be much information on it

Rather than me try explaining all the fineries of the MAQ have a good look around YouTube. Just about everything you could want to do has been explained on their in better detail than I could give. Theres no real menu diving, most are just one or two steps.

Which app do you mean Thesys? I tried loads but settled on Genome MIDI, its also good for driving the Vermona DRM1 MKIII I am using.

Nice free app, but Lemur to run it is £17+, I’ll stick with Genome which looks far more useful.

Cool. As long as the weather's good should be able to check youtube in a few days.

Did try thesys once ages ago. I meant the maq 16/3 editor though http://www.doepfer.de/home_e.htm

Interesting. Can you edit MAQ 16/3 values with this too? I know it does midi, but is it not more of a sequencer? The MAQ 16/3 editor is specifically for editing MAQ 16/3 values. ;\

Please address the question to our software engineer Christian Assall
(software@doepfer.de). He is the only one who is able to answer such
questions.

Best wishes
