Hi Zoë,

The A-185 has an output impedance that is effectively zero Ohms so it can drive very many VCOs without affecting scale accuracy. Depending on what you are driving your VCOs from already there may not be a need to use a buffered mult (i.e. A-185) for just a few VCOs if the pitch error is of the same order as the VCOs themselves. I did a post on muffs explaining the arithmetic behind it and it may be useful www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=65129

Cheers
Tony

A-185 amplifying for multiple oscillators

2012-08-12 by Zoë Blade

Hi!

I gather that if you're sending the same CV signal to more than two VCOs, you need an A-185 to boost the signal... does anyone know how many VCOs you can accurately tune together once you've installed the A-185?

Thanks,
Zoë.
