DIY Kit #1 power question

Hi,

I've assembled the Doepfer A-100 DIY Kit #1 in a wooden Ikea Rast cabinet.
When connecting the Transformer to the power supply board a question came into my mind.

In the instructions it says for the ground connection -> "housing (only if a metal case is used)".
I'm having a wooden cabinet, but inside I'm not using the doepfer rails, but a 19" rackmount rail, and it has quit a bit of aluminum.

Do I need to connect the ground to that then?
Or if not, where should I connect the ground to� Or nowhere at all?

Personally I'd say it won't hurt to ground those rails...
But let's see what Dieter has to say.

Right. It's OK to GND the metal parts of the case.
