A190-2 LC Midi > CV - Only pitchbend works?

A190-2 LC Midi > CV - Only pitchbend works?

2010-11-01 by jeph

Hello,

I bought this new from Analog Haven a month ago and just now got to install it. The learn light blinks when learn is engaged, but other than that, the only thing I can get to respond is the pitchbend CV out. I scanned the manual and tried several midi devices/cables/channels. Did I miss something in the initial setup? What are some troubleshooting steps?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply - I'm just trying to send notes directly (midi out) from a few midi controllers. Haven't tried any program changes. I know that they are needed to program certain aspects, but I thought it would have some basic function out of the box? (especially because it does not ship with a manual)

What is sending the program changes: A keyboard/synth or a sequencer
program?
How is the sender connected to the A190: Direct or is some sequencer
program in the line?
If you are sending from a keyboard but though a sequencer program: Are
you sure the sequencer program does not filter program changes?

You have to adjust the midi channel and reference note via the learn
function as described in the A-190-2 user manual.
And I'd recommend to turn on the midi transmitter after the A-100/A-190-2.
Some midi transmitter use the running mode (i.e. no status byte is sent
until the midi status changes). In this case the A-190-2 would not recognize
the midi note message (in learn mode too) because of the missing status
byte.

Best wishes
