Newbie question about the internal bus CV and gate

Newbie question about the internal bus CV and gate

2010-05-22 by mbox_online

Hello. I'm planning to start with a Basic System 2, and the internal CV + gate sounds practical for many uses.

But what if I want to use an other CV source for one of the A-110 oscillators for the moment? Will the internal CV automatically be bypassed if I plug something into the CV1 jack on the A-110?

Same question goes for internal gate. Will plugging something else into the gate jack on the A-140 ADSR bypass the internal gate for this module?

Regards
Martin

Yes for newer moduls. As far as I remember the first series of A110s
(from 1996) did not use the normalling switch contact of the CV, but had
a soldered wire jumper (this jumper still exists in the later series,
but the socket contacts are no longer short connected).
If buy a used VCO, you should have a look at this. The version number is
printed on the pcb like "A110 VCO copyright 1997 V3" (upper half about
at the height of the tune potentiometer)

yes.
