9V adapter?

9V adapter?

2008-03-10 by David Salter

Florian, or anybody really but I know Florian has done this,

I want to build a Roland tuner pedal into my modular - I intend to re
case it, and I want to power if off the modular's PSU rather than keep
taking the panel out and changing batteries.

Is there a schematic for a little adapter like Doepfer's 5V adapter that
will convert +12 to +9 volts?

Many thanks

David

Re: [Doepfer_a100] 9V adapter?

2008-03-10 by Florian Anwander

Hi David

two possibilities:
1.) an adaptor to the powerbus of the A-100

+12V--+-7809--+---o +9v
  in   |   |   |      out
      ===  |  === <-------capacitors are 100n
       |   |   |
gnd---+---+---+---o

2.) or you pick the dc direct from the rectifier at the powersupply:

~+15V--+---+---7809--+--------o +9v
   in   |   |    |    |          out
       === ===c2 | c3===
     C1---  |    |    |
        |   |    |    |
  gnd---+---+----+----+--------o

All the best, Florian

RE: [Doepfer_a100] 9V adapter?

Thanks Florian,

So just to make sense of the ASCII drawing;

the positive supply goes to the 7809 with a cap either side between the positive and gnd and the 7809 grounded on one pin?

Are the caps anything special i.e. tantalums?

Many thanks again

Hi David

yes.

For the filtering caps - I do not know how they are called in english.
I'd say: polycarbonat foil capacitors. 35Volt.

Thanks Florian. Are they polarised caps?

Also is there a cap between the 7809 gnd leg and ground or is it wired
direct?

Musikmesse

2008-03-10 by hardware@doepfer.de

I'm about to leave for the Frankfurt Musikmesse. So there will be no
answers/comments/responses from me during this week.
If you want to visit us: we exhibit in hall 5.1, booth B66 within the
special exhibition called "Synthesizer-Welt". I'll be at the booth on
Wednesday and Saturday.

Best wishes
Dieter Doepfer
