loading wavetables

loading wavetables

2008-03-09 by Stu Grimshaw

i read that the doepfer programme for loading wavetables into the a112
is okay for windows95. can anyone tell me if it works for xp? i have a
mac that will boot xp, but before i go through all the hassle of
installing the interface drivers, getting to understand xp etc, i
though i'd ask first :)

more generally, are wavetables always loaded individually?

have those who have used the programme really fiddled with the cv 256
times??

must the wavetables wavs be 8 bit, or do the extra bits just get ignored?

how many samples is one wavetable?

thanks for any answers you may have,

stu

XP has a kind of classic mode for the application. It is not as in OSX
that a real other OS is started, but the executables are started with a
restricted set of libraries.

Hi group,

hello to everybody – this is my first post.

I tried to upload to the A-112 trough a Mac with a windows XP (running on Parallels).
Everything crashed (XP, Parallels, Finder...). So if somebody got that managed, I'm very
much interested.

Wasn't there a thread about someone programming a little tool for OSX??

Best,
Lukas

Thats how software always is. :-)

The loader will work without problem as a Windows95 application (the
drehbank editor is also a Win95 application and it works without any
troubles under XP). The question will be, whether your MIDI-interface
will work under XP on the Mac. This is not related to the wavetable loader.

hi group,

okay, i'm not going to ask for a crash course (no pun intended) in
windows and its ways of doing things, but maybe i'm within grasping
distance, so..

i got a message saying that CTL3D.DLL couldn't be found. no options,
like searching the net, the hard disk or anything else were offered.
is there something that i need to do which is obvious to someone
experienced in windows?

i use an rme fireface. its audio works fine with xp, so i assume its
midi will too.

i notice that along with the programme, a folder called demo contains
a few wavs. these are all samples - mr. bean and whatever - and have
nothing to to do with the wavetable function, am i right ?

here's hoping this is going to be easier than it's starting to look,

ha ha! okay, you got me :)

but, you know what i'd do if i were selling hardware that relied
software that relied on a component that has disappeared from the os
used by 90% of the planet's computer users?

I'D MENTION IT IN BIG FAT LETTERS SOMEWHERE VERY CLOSE TO THE DOWNLOAD.

thanks florian

You need a crash course in solving problems with Google ;-) Enter
CTL3D.DLL at google and the second hit out of 13500 hits is the help
page of Doepfer regarding this topic.
