Crane Museo Silver Rag - K3 inks optimally?

Crane Museo Silver Rag - K3 inks optimally?

2006-03-04 by sagaface

Hi All,

I was just pricing the Silver Rag on several sites and realized that after all the reports I've
read about it here, it somehow didn't sink in whether this paper will show more gloss
differential with the older ultrachrome inks; that is, is this paper targeted mainly to the
new x800 series of Epson printers/ink? I'm on a 2200, so don't know if it would be worth
trying or not, or if I'd need to do a K2/K3 ink swap a la Helen.

Thanks!
Sarah

Yes, the older UC inks bronze badly on this paper - as bad or worse
than Epson Premium Semi Gloss.

You will see a lot of bronzing with the older inks. I would recommend the K3 inks for best
results. I have been a beta tester with the silver rag and I have printed on my 7800 using
Imageprint k3 profiles and also on my 2400 using the epson driver. No bronzing with either
set up. eleanor
