1280 and BO, doable?

1280 and BO, doable?

2006-01-03 by Adam Maas

I'm looking for a larger printer than my C86, which I've been using for
BO printing, with excellent results. One of the local pushers has some
very good deals on new 1280's ($500CDN new, $450 open box). Has anybody
had any luck using these for BO printing? I'd certainly be willing to
get some Eboni if it's doable.

I typically print on Moab Kayenta, EEM and Moab Entrada Bright 190gsm.

The 1280 does excellent BO printing, but that price seems high (but I
don't know what the exchange rate is). Just be sure it's a good price.

Clayton,

The R2400 retails for $1099CDN up here. Canadian retail prices are
ridiculous, but if you want a decent warranty, you pay it. Thanks for
the info, now I just need to find the cash.

They're $325 US refurb/warrenty from Epson. IMO their refurbs are
better than new because they've had two additional inspections
(customer and Epson's refurb crew). Don't know what you'd have to pay
to get one of these delivered to Canada, but the deal would surely be
better than from any brick and mortar dealer in terms of support
(Epson's better than dealers). Cut and past the following if it
doesn't link properly to Epson/refurb

1280 refurbs are $225 after the $100 rebate. I actually gotten the
Epson rebate, unlike too many others.
