stopping a print job

stopping a print job

2006-01-04 by Paul Thacker

I have a PC and work with QTR with the QTRgui interface ver 2.2.1. I
also access my 7600 via a network in my studio. Ever since I began
working with QTR stopping/canceling a job in progress was always
awkward. Now that I access the printer via a network stopping the job
is really a pain. I can't do it from "printers & faxes" because the
bi-directional communication from printer to cpu via the print
server/network doesn't like it and is strongly recommended against in
the print server manual. Is there a pause/stop button I can't find in
QTR? Studioprint has a "cancel" button. Have I missed something? Not
being able to stop a 24" print can be unnecessarily costly.

Paul

QTRgui in its current version (2.3.14) has a cancel button. However, this is
only of use while QTR is spooling the output. Once spooling is complete you are
at the whim of Windows and the printers & Faxes dialogs.

Hi Paul,

Have you tried releasing the paper lever in your
printer? It stops everything!

Pablo
