Print Head Cleaner ?

Print Head Cleaner ?

2017-08-13 by a_pettit_jr@...

Hello All,

I want to try to get an old Epson 2000P back on line.

I want to flush the heads before installing any new ink.

I have extra empty carts and can use one for flush-out .

Does Anyone Know : what solution is compatible with

MIS Ebony series inks ? Alcohol, Ammonia, Other ??

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

I made the "generic" dilution base described at http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/Ink%20Mixing%20Generally.pdf to be as compatible with lots of different inks as possible. I use it to make the Eboni-based "Eboni-6", which I generally use in the "variable tone" version (http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/3880-Eboni-Variable-Tone.pdf [works in all Epson printer as far as I know]. The generic base makes a good flushing base as well as mild cleaning solution. There are stronger cleaning solutions, but too strong can damage the heads. It might be best to see if a mild one like the clear dilution base c6b works before using a stronger solution. (The surfactant that is most effective in the c6b base is Edwal LFN. It's a great cleaner.)

Good luck.

Paul

Hello Paul,

Thank You for the link .. I reviewed many of your links, but none on the newer variable inksets thus, I did not find this.

Alex

Hello Paul,

I'm having trouble getting the links in the first link to be clickable. The second pdf's links work fine. Would you please check the first pdf's links? It could very well be a problem at my end too, maybe I should see if my Acrobat reader is up to date.

Thank you!

Is this PDF --

the one that is not working for you?

I uploaded a second version of it that avoids the spaces and was saved by a better PDF writer.

Hopefully one of these will work for you.

Yes, that's the pdf whose links I'm having trouble with. But the new version behaves the same way. Before you spend too much on this, let me try loading a fresh Acrobat Reader. However won't be able to get at that till later in the day. And let's see if another member has trouble.

Best,

Paul W.

Paul,

I checked my Acrobat Reader and it looks to be the current version. Again, the links in the first pdf (the smaller one) are not clickable, but the links in the second pdf are.

Sorry!
