Carbon Inks in UK

Hi,
There not being any Piezography or Carbon ink distributors in UK I am thinking of taking up the challenge. But first would like to get an estimate of number of users in UK. Please contact me directly if you are a user of Jone Cone inks or MIS Eboni Inks.

I'm using Cone inks and I live in Australia. I don't think that a local distributor makes a lot of difference, The time difference is more of an issue from here than the UK. The Cone people are very good at supporting their product via their tech support forum.

Initially, I emailed Jon Cone and asked him for people in Australia using his inks. It's not a long list but the contact that I made that way has been enormously helpful.

The Cone inks are not cheap, it's quite a learning curve, but the results are worth the effort.

I think there used to be an Australian piezography distributor some years ago, but with the ease of international shipping it's hard for someone to be able to add enough of a margin to cover the costs of running a business and also make a profit. There's also the issue of keeping stock, as there are seven shades, five inksets (with some common shades), and three or four bottle sizes.

It's not clear to me either what the number of users in a country would tell you, or what advantage you see. Most interaction occurs online, either here in the Yahoo forums or on the InkJetMall one. It is useful to be able to see prints, but there are print swaps / exchanges for that.

There is one UK user who was posting on the IJM forum. He was having ink issues (I think he accidentally mixed them), and received support to diagnose and remedy this problem. There would be quite a few others I imagine, but I don't keep track of locations, and some people don't say where they are.

The Inkjetsolution site has the old Piezography manual for download. The new one has been out for over a year. It's great that you can get inks closer to home but I'd still head to Inkjetmall for support.
