... that works perfectly to profile my like-new Epson 1280 at the camp in Canada, along with my NEC CRT (Nova Scotia: Frozen in Time!) At home in New York, however, I use an Epson 1800 with the Roark black-ink setup to print both BW and colour. The original software from Gretag-Macbeth warns me to download software for printers using colours other than diluted C&M, and the 1800 includes Blue and Red. X-Rite bought Gretag several years ago and have pretty much buried the Gretag software (though the principle measuring device seems unchanged). Can anyone using the X-rite product and running a multi-color printer tell me what the X-Rite name for the appropriate software is? Or maybe give me the name of somebody at X-Rite who knows what I'm talking about?

Hi ,
X-rite has several pieces of software that will work with the i1.. Color iCQ, ColorMunki, EZcolor, Monaco Profiler and ProfileMaker 5. If it just a profiling solution al lof them will do that. If your after profiling at a detail channel level the only the last two can do that. I would suggest going on X-rite's site an checking them out.. If you have any questions or aren't sure call them they will guide you to a solution.. Their good folks.

The Epson R1800 is considered an RGB-device with the normal driver and
the color management systems active. Any printer profile creation
package that
supports an Eye-One Basic etc will create RGB-device printer profiles.
The extra Red and Blue inks do not create another condition in that case.

It will be different with a special driver (RIP) that considers the
R1800 an CcMmYKRB-device. Then you have to create N-Color printer
profiles for the active color management system. There might be a RIP
for the R1800 but I'm not aware of one that drives it in N-color mode.

For B&W drivers like QTR you do not need more software than already
available in QTR.
