Harvey, 

Is there any real reason to have a blue monitor?  Is it just marketing hype or do they describe some special blue factor to making the screen image look better?  

I would think the blue would somehow influence your eyes to see the screen more "blue" or trick the eyes color receptors or something like that...

  That somewhat depends on your budget and calibrating software.

  We, and many others have been extremely happy with the LaCie Electron Blue monitors.  We have the 19".
