CBX driver problem

CBX driver problem

2004-04-22 by Keith

Hi,

I am having problems with the CBX driver. Whenever I try to use any
application that uses it I get the message that "the selected midi
device is in use". I cannot find anything that could be using the
midi port. It happens even without a cable connected to my serial
port. I have tried a couple of different CBX driver versions with the
same result.

Has anyone any suggestions?

Keith.

Answering my own question, a little, but I have tried a Roland driver:

http://www.edirol.it/europe/dwn/serial32_wxp2k.exe

which doesn't give me the error. I have sparadically been able to
upload a kit, but not reliably. I have tried dumpster & freeloader.
Any other suggestions for software to control the DTX?

Keith.

Maybe my ramblings will help someone else. Strange I had to use a
R***nd driver though. Maybe it is a win2k problem. I came across a
problem with service packs 3 and 4 with the Yamaha driver when
searching the internet, but I am running service pack 1 anyway (my
laptop doesn't like service packs 3 or 4 - I have tried them).
