PCY10 Bell Pad Question

PCY10 Bell Pad Question

2003-01-02 by underneathheaven <realvast@swbell.net>

I have a couple of questions about the PCY10. First off, where does
it connect to? Does it take up an input source? I'll have to use
input 9/10 I assume? Second, where does it get the bell sounds
from? Are the bell sounds already available on the module? Do the
bell sounds change when you switch ride cymbals? Thanks for
clearing up the confusion!

Hi realvast,

Yes, you will need an input for it, and 9 or 10 will
work fine. And the bell sounds are already in the
module, so it is a matter of connecting the PCY10 to
an open input, then assigning the voice you want to
that input. If, for some reason, you change a pad
from one type to another, the voice(s) you had
assigned to the original pad will be assigned to the
new pad unless you change them (you don't really
assign voices to the pad, you assign them to an
input). I think that answers your questions, but if
not, let us know. Walt

Re: [DTXpress] PCY10 Bell Pad Question

The PCY10 is a mono trigger and takes up 1 input. The "9/10" jack is yourmono pad input. It can handle two mono pads with the use of a stereo "Y" cord. I havemy PCY10in #9 with my BP80 in #10. Of course I only get 1 pad on the BP80 this way, AHH! More inputs please! You can assign any sound you like to the PCY10, but if it is in #9 (or is it t#10?)it is defaulted to a ride bell sound. I guess that's the way Yamaha planned it?
