Missing or muted cymbal hits on DTXtreme 2s

I was experiencing missed hits and muted hits on my cymbal pads. In particular the pcy130, and the pcy150s pads had become very unresponsive. I had lost the edge hit completely on the pcy150s, and had to hit the pad just to the right of the bell to get any sound at all. The solution, simple as it sounds, was to tighten all screws on the underside of the pad, especially the screws that hold the jack assembly to the pad. I have not experienced any problems since.
