Yes, you can connect a mono cymbal and a mono tom to 9/10. Use a mono cable out from each into a TRS splitter, or "Y" adapter, which has two mono female leads to accept your tom and cymbal cables and a single stereo male connector at the base of the "Y" for the 9/10 input. (Do not use a splitter that has dual stereo ends; you will not get one of your components to work.) Then just set the respective voices and triggers for the two pads. If you use a stereo pad in 9/10, like the 65S variety of snare and cymbal, you will not get a rim voice, since 9/10 cannot accommodate the rim switch that makes these pads "stereo." However, instead of two mono pads, you could use another company's dual-zone pad (Yamaha doesn't make anything that corresponds, except the BP80 bar pad), which typically feature a bow and bell for a cymbal or a rim and body for a snare. Only one dual-zone component will work in 9/10 at a time; it's like having two independent mono pads. Ed
