I've heard that it will indeed have sampling capabilities and that the holdup to this point has been because of a licensing snag. Yamaha apparently wants this product to enter the market with a bang--no bugs or unfinished business. > Any way I love playing the Yamaha drums, my only wish is that they > would promote them allot more then they do and maybe have a web site > like they have for the Motif line, that would really be nice. Someday we hope to have enough force as a collective entity to establish some sort of elevated relationship with the company, so that our concerns are taken seriously. In order to do so, we'll need a large, fairly committed membership that is not only informed but also strongly consumer oriented. Yamaha already is a much more accessible player than Roland is. We've gotten fairly deep into e- drum management already on occasion; they are aware of us. The potential is there for a mutually beneficial relationship. By the way, the vdrums forum seems to have relaxed its unilateral disdain for Yamaha products. There's been a certain amount of infiltration of Yamaha products and users there. But Roland users are a loyal bunch, and their products are the industry standard, if only for their abundance. But for all their loyalty, you won't find bigger critics of Roland than Roland users. For one thing, they cost way too much. Ed
