MIDI (either a second brain or a pad-to-MIDI wangdoodle) would certainly require some time wandering the highways and byways of the menus and options on both wangdoodle and brain - and, judging by some of the previous messages here, that can lead to frustration. Me, I quite like that stuff and it generally takes several hours of frustrated tinkerage before I have an urgent need to solve the problem by applying a torque wrench and E=(1/2)mv^2. If your boiling point is lower, then the mixer route is probably favourite as it should just be plug'n'go. You can plumb the 'phones out of one brain through the AUX IN of the other for a low-cost approach, or get an inexpensive mixer for a bit more flexibility. Me, I probably fall between the two and whichever way I choose I will wish I did it the other way. [sigh] C'est la vie.
