RE: [DTXpress] Mesh pads

2003-07-10 by Spencer Hopkinson

Do you have the design available for your pads?

If it works really well I'd like a copy of the design instructions to make
my own mesh head bass drum and snare.
How much does it cost to make too? Roughly...

Seriously guys, I'm considering building a set for my drum set, and then
make
some for sale, possibly donate them to certain individuals who would be in
need of them. I'm thinking of making them as replacement drums for those
who
have kits like the inexpensive V-Club or the DTXpress I & II kits, but
cannot
afford anything over $1,300. If I were to make them, I would be able to get

the mounting hardware for the drumshell (tom bracket) so that regardless of
what you have, all you would have to do is take the pad off and put the mesh

drum in its place without buying or changing rack hardware. I'll have to
wait until I move into the house I'm renting a room in (end of August).
