I've used a small MIDI drum pad to provide additional inputs to the
DTXpressII. Similar to this one:

There are a surprising number of "extra" sounds in each of the kits I've
experimented with. Try hooking a MIDI keyboard to the MIDI in on the
DTXpress and setting it to send on Channel 10. Then strike keys and hear
how many different sounds are there. :)
