Again, with continued experimentation this morning, it continues to appear that each "voice" is specifically assigned to a slider, regardless of the input channel, note assignment, or any other variable. Hmmm. That's interesting. I like the voice keying better than input keying. Can you actually connect your tom, cymbal, and snare voices into any input and still adjust them with the appropriate slider, subject to further control with the knob on each pad? That's groovy. I wonder what happens with external samples. Does the user have to encode them with the proper identifier when downloading? Back to your problem, if no one is aware of the magic setting for assigning a voice to an alternate slider, maybe we should ask So Tanaka in Japan, or Yamahammer when he emerges from the pile on his desk after vacation. The pad knob would be compensation for hard wiring, but it would be nice to know.
