I don't have a Q,but I do have the Micro Q and XT.The first thing I noticed when comparing the Waldorf sound to the Andromeda is that they share some common ground, both have great pads,as well as strings, and basses. After a while,I began to notice the Waldorf pads have a somewhat digital graininess to them, while the Andromeda's pads were more smooth in texture. I like both, and there's a place in music for all sounds. The Andromeda does better leads, period. The Waldorfs leads, even the ones emulating analog, just don't sound as good. Both machines have(Q and A6)their own good and bad points, but if you can afford to have them both, you can cover a lot of sonic territory.Weren't the Q and Andromeda both designed by Axel Hartmann, maker of the new Neuron synth?
