changing defaults in an1xedit

changing defaults in an1xedit

2001-08-14 by erdem_taylan@yahoo.com

Hi,

I am having difficulty changing the default values of some of the
system parameters like receive midi channel etc. I would like to
change them so that everytime i run the program they come as the
values I set. Whatever I did (Used system send, store etc) I could
not change them anything besides their default which is 1. Even if
change them during a session, after I terminate and rerun the program
they return to their old value of 1. Anyone knows how to do this?

Thanks...

Erdem

Erdem,

If by " a session," you mean with AN1xEdit, you have to execute a System
Store to change the values permanently. Otherwise, AN1x Edit will
overwrite them the next time you execute a Select All --> Send or System
Send, they'll be overwritten.

Basically are you saying that, if I run An1xedit and change the
receive channel for scene 1 from its default value of 1 to say 5 and
hit system store and exit the program, when I rerun the program
receive channel for scene 1 should be 5 instead of 1. If that is the
case, on my machine that does not work. Even if I do that, when I
rerun the program the value turns back to 1. Grrrrr....

Why don't you create your own .an1 bank with your preferred settings,
such as you've described in this thread, and use this .an1 bank a
starter set - a template - for each editing session. Just remember to
'Save As' once changes are made during your editing so as to not
overwrite the master document. Make sense?

Sorry for the delay in replying to this thread as I have been away on
holiday

AN1xEdit saves systems parameters with each library file. The default
library file uses the AN1x machine default values. So if you want a
custom system setup then you should create your own default library with
the required parameters. Then load An1xEdit by double clicking on this
file to start the program. That way the defaults will automatically be
loaded and sent to the synth.
