Surprising that RPN wasn't mentioned :)

I voted "Other" because in reality I had the hardest time with (1)
new keyboard layout (vs. HP48GX), Algebraic mode, and long-hold
keypresses.

Re: [50g] New poll for 50g

2007-08-29 by Guy Teague

where do i vote for the 27s? despite 2 very serious flaws i find it one of the most useful and enjoyable to use of all the hp's i've owned. which, btw, is quite a few--not quite all, but close. my first one was the hp55 back around 1975.

the 27s flaws, you ask? dim display and horrible battery life compounded by using expensive batteries. but i've owned mine for over 20 years and will keep it as long as it lasts.

on another subject, they are having a field day bashing the new 35s over at the hp museum forum--finding many bugs. heck, i even found and posted one myself!

but it's the first hp calculator i've owned in nearly 25 years that i can pull out and show to people without embarrassment involving funky colors, tinny-sounding keys or other evidence of hp's long slide into the quality trough. yes, they redeemed themselves somewhat with the 50g, but only somewhat. i really love the look and feel of the 35s and would wish they bring out a similar higher-end model with say, a micro-sd slot and a mini-usb port along with some mac/win/linux connection software.
