USING THE 50G

USING THE 50G

2009-02-20 by J

Thanks everyone. I guess just there isn't enough materials on how to use it. I even checked you tube. Someone suggested taking a course! Who gives courses on the HP calculator? No one probably. I found the User's Guide, which is better than the User's Manual. So I guess I'll have to perish for months or years till I reach a proficiency level. Thanks for those who answered before. If anyone knows of books or videos on how to use the HP49 or Hp50 please email me. Thanks

USER keyboard assignment

Would anyone know if there is a way to assign a menu to a key, such as the menu you see if you press {<-}{PRG}, {NXT}, {F4 (MODES)}, {F4 (KEYS)}? I would like that menu to appear when I press {->},{F6} (in USER mode, of course).

You can tell what menu you're currently looking at with RCLMENU. In your case I think it's 67.01

To get to that menu you would execute:
67.01 MENU

...so, you can assign the program:

<<
67.01 MENU
>>

...to the key of your choice

Don't try to learn everything at once. Learn the simpler stuff and then tackle other things as they come up. Realize too that for many people they have to learn mathematics as well as the calculator (or any CAS). So don't be too quick to blame lack of knowledge of one subject on the other.

I found that the manuals mentioned in other recent messages are a good resource. Then it's just a matter of spending time with the calculator & trial-n-error explorations.
