Folders on SD card

Folders on SD card

2009-01-18 by Kenneth Horton

I just recently purchased my 50g and had a question pertaining to
folders on the SD card.

From the calculator FILES function, I am not able to create new
folders on the card. If I create folders on a PC, I can see them in
the root directory but I am not able to open the folders.

I am able to use the calculators STORE and RECALL functions by
specifying the path in the stack for the function call. I can also
copy files to and from the root of the SD card.

The card is a 256MB card formatted as FAT32.

The calculator firmware has been upgraded to 4.20060602 which I
downloaded from the HP web site.

Is this the proper way this is supposed to operate, or did I miss
something?

Thanks ....

SD folders are DOS folder, not calculator directories. Use the silver
left arrow to browse into the folder. You can't recall or store them.
Copy an HP directory to the SD card and you will see the difference.

You can also do that for subdirectory contents as well. See here,
second PDF.

Reformat it on the calculator, or on the PC using FAT16. Otherwise
there is a long wait time every time you power on the calc due to the
long time it takes to scan so many clusters with FAT32.

Type VERSION and you should see the version number. If it is not 2.09,
use this one:

If you want to be able to create folders, delete folder, move stuff,
copy stuff, etc on the card, use this:

Hello,

The folder was accidentally deleted and I couldn't find a backup of
that one file. Someone was kind enough to send it back to me. The
latest version can be found here:
