[50g] HP experience
2008-07-27 by Nancy Von Essen
HP41CV sold it to a guy thet left his on the roof of his car and drove away.
HP41CX sold it to another guy who lost his by dropping it into some concrete being poured at a construction site, entombed.
HP11C still going strong
HP15C still right thete
HP16C still OK just checked it
HP55 was $400 when it first came out. up in attic developed contact corrosion problems internally
HP49G still OK but so slow it gets in its own way
HP49G+ still working but two keys wobble
HP 50G 49G+ looks better in some ways
HP41 had bar code reader, memory modules, etc. not much internet at that
time. Also good manuals. Thiel College has good site for those interested in programming. goto
I'll second the need for better batteries. Costco Kirkland AAA's die quickly although can then be used in Sony Walkman. Ultra copper tops best so far. When thay die, and the backup battery also goes, programs gone.
C'est la vie.
