SD Card question

I was just wondering what size of SD cards you are all using? I know
about formatting them to FAT16 in order to use, but I am curious as to
what sizes any of you have gotten to work well, 1GB, 2GB, beyond?

Hi,
I use a 2 GB, which is the largest that the 50g can use (according to the manual). Also, the 50g will use FAT32, but it's MUCH slower.

Bigger is not better, for calc purposes. I assume that you want a big
card for other uses.

I use an old 128 MB card, and I'd use my old 16 MB card (came with a
cell phone) if I still had it. The more stuff on the card, the longer
the card takes to scan on bootup, and the 128 MB is way more than I'll
ever need for the calc. I usually keep the card in the battery
compartment until I need it, so the calc can start up instantly.

I think you'll find that if you reformat it to FAT16, it will start quicker. I have a 2 GB card that, when formatted to FAT32, caused my 50g to boot very slowly. However, when reformatted to FAT16, my calc now boots immediately.
