Don't wanna break the Wa, But

Don't wanna break the Wa, But

2007-11-30 by oykoyr

I've been looking to get hold of a 50 for a while now. My 48GX finally
proved to be to slow and just to old. I remember that for a while
there, in the days of the 49, that there was some small controversy
about being careful to check where your prospective calculator was
manufactured.

One run of serial numbers were bad, from Malaysia, or Singapore as I
remember, and the others were OK. Now that HP has gone to blister
packaging (good in some ways, bad in others) you have a tough time
seeing anything but "Made in China" on the packaging. Have there been
any problems like that for the 50?

Another point. Best Buy has, after almost two years, finally started
to carry the 50 in my local store.(They have two of them hanging on
the wall, lost among the cheaper Casio's) at list price, naturally. I
don't wish to discourage them, they are trying (usually very trying
indeed :) but paying MSRP for a 50 is, well, you know..

Anyhow, let's forget the la-la land of the big box stores. Where is
the best place to get a 50 these days? I track a few places, but over
the last six months or so availability has been a bit spotty.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,

Roci

I know it's a bit offtopic, but retail price of hp50g in slovenia
(europe, EU) is around 245eur which is about 360usd (with tax)

so yeah... double price

so.. even if you buy two, you'll get them cheaper then we can :)
(btw, i got 25% off :DD)

Type HP 50g into Google and get places. $117 including shipping
seems to be the lowest quote.
Merry Christmas - you owe yourself an HP50 ;-)
