Having used the equation library a zillion times, while I initially thought I would need to modify stuff to get done what I wanted, I quickly found that to not be the case. You can easily use the tools to get the job done on you understand how they've set it up.
If you'd really like to modify it though, it is very easy to do. Select the equation you'd like, hit SOLVE, then when you exit, go into N.SLV, SOLVE EQUATION, and there you have your equation (which is stored into the variable name EQ). You can then edit to your hearts content and save it as something else.
